Warrnambool, VIC – August 25, 2025

The newly formed Warrnambool Nepalese Community Inc. hosted its first official cultural event, celebrating the vibrant Teej Festival on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Dennington Bowls Club. The event brought together over 100 attendees from across Warrnambool, Geelong, Terang, Dennington, and Hamilton, marking a significant milestone for the community.

Formally registered on June 10, 2025, the Warrnambool Nepalese Community Inc. was established with the aim of uniting Nepalese residents in the region to celebrate cultural festivals and strengthen connections within the broader local community. The committee currently includes nine members dedicated to cultural preservation, inclusion, and community support.

A Festival of Culture and Unity

The Teej Festival, celebrated predominantly by women in Nepal, is a vibrant and deeply spiritual Hindu celebration marked by fasting, dancing, singing, and prayers for marital harmony, well-being, and purification. Traditionally dedicated to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, Teej also serves as a joyful occasion for women to come together in solidarity and celebration.

This year’s event was not only a cultural celebration but also a community-building success. Attendees enjoyed an evening filled with traditional songs, dance performances, and shared meals. Prior to the main event, weekly Bhajan (devotional song) gatherings were held at various homes, building momentum and fostering connection among members.

President Deepesh expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and especially acknowledged the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, managing catering, decorations, and logistics. He also extended special appreciation to Vice President Mohan, who originally proposed the idea of formalizing the community group.

In his address, Deepesh also voiced his gratitude toward all the committee members and volunteers, emphasizing their hard work and dedication in making the event possible. “It’s the strength of our collective effort that brought this vision to life,” he said. “We’re building something meaningful here, and everyone’s contribution matters.”

He encouraged anyone in the broader community interested in contributing to consider joining the committee, with the goal of making the organization even stronger.

Vice President Mohan echoed the sentiment, highlighting the event as a team effort and an example of what can be achieved through collaboration. “Now that we’ve laid the foundation, we look forward to organizing more cultural and community activities in south-west Victoria. We encourage everyone to bring their ideas forward so we can continue to grow—together.”

The event was proudly supported by Gracie International Education and Migration, whose representative, Anul attended and praised the community’s efforts: “This was a beautiful initiative. It’s inspiring to see such dedication to cultural heritage and inclusivity.”

The atmosphere throughout the evening was filled with joy, music, laughter, and a sense of cultural pride. Attendees engaged in traditional dances, sang together, and shared stories—strengthening old bonds and forming new ones. The positive and energetic vibe reflected the spirit of Teej and the strength of the community.

With such a strong start, the Warrnambool Nepalese Community Inc. is looking ahead with enthusiasm. The committee hopes to organize more festivals, educational programs, and social initiatives to both celebrate Nepalese heritage and contribute meaningfully to the diverse local fabric of south-west Victoria.

Our team held a meeting on Monday with the client team for the Zephyr project to review the status of the forthcoming Q3 launch campaign. The campaign, originally built as an omnichannel activation across CTV, paid social, and programmatic display, is now subject to substantial midstream revisions—following newly surfaced client directives. The feedback introduces a material shift in strategic framing under a compressed delivery window.

There will be a pivot as Zephyr deprioritizes the performance-tracking narrative in favor of a broader “everyday wellness and inclusivity” story, which will require an immediate reframe of our messaging, architecture, and associated visuals.

To address the revised scope, I’ve assigned immediate follow-up actions across the team. Visual art will lead conversations with post-production around stock content integration. Ad sales will recalibrate the media plan in light of the repositioned messaging and will coordinate with DSPs to avoid penalties related to insertion order delays. Copy desk is to be tasked with stripping all unsubstantiated medical claims from copy, implementing the new CTA, and managing a parallel review with legal.

We conduct a daily internal stand-up each morning through the end of the week to identify blockers. The next client check-in is scheduled for July 3rd, where we will preview asset revisions and confirm compliance milestones. Final go/no-go is slated for July 7th at 17:00 PDT. We are proceeding with all mitigations in parallel, and escalated any dependency delays as they surface.
