The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) extends its warmest congratulations to H.E. Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar on his election as President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) at the 46th OCA General Assembly held today in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. His Excellency becomes the 22nd President to lead the Olympic Movement in Asia since the first-ever multisport Games in 1913.

The General Assembly was attended by representatives of all 45 Asian National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and graced by the presence of H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Representing Nepal at the Assembly were NOC President Mr. Jeevan Ram Shrestha and Secretary General Mr. Rajiv Shrestha, who joined fellow Asian NOC leaders in this historic occasion.

The Nepal Olympic Committee conveys its sincere best wishes to H.E. Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani for a successful tenure and looks forward to continued collaboration in strengthening Olympic values, unity, and sports development across Asia.
